Asst. Project Manager (Electrical)

The Assistant Project Manager (Electrical) supports the Project Manager in ensuring the successful initiation, planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects. This role involves planning and organizing project schedules and resources, managing timelines, and addressing customer concerns. The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring that electrical projects are executed efficiently and effectively, meeting both client expectations and company standards.

Project Coordination and Management

  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating all project functions to ensure alignment with project execution plans.
  • Consolidate inputs from Senior Project Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Procurement, and Planning to maintain a unified project overview.
  • Track deliverables, milestones, and dependencies across departments to ensure timely completion.
  • Support implementation of project workflows, processes, and standards established by the Project Manager.

Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules, integrating inputs from engineering, procurement, and site teams.
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules and flag deviations to the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate sequencing, resource allocation information, and interfacing planswith support from Senior Project Engineer.
  • Maintain version control of schedules and ensure they are communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

Document Management

  • Maintain and manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO, QMS, and internal standards.
  • Oversee submission schedules, ensuring responsible parties provide documentation on time.
  • Ensure proper filing of contracts, permits, technical submissions, correspondence, and meeting records.
  • Assist in preparing client/management reports and handover documentation.
  • Coordinate with Senior Project Engineer, subcontractors, and authorities to align Testing & Commissioning (T&C) schedules and documentation.
  • Track T&C deliverables, inspection timelines, and submission of O&M documents.
  • Assist in preparing final handover packages and ensuring readiness for closing meetings

Project Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collect, verify, and consolidate weekly site progress reports from the Senior Project Engineer and subcontractors.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly project dashboards, highlight key risks, and present status updates to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain a centralised reporting systemfor progress, safety, quality, and commercial updates.
  • Support data-driven monitoring by ensuring project teams submit accurate and timely information.

Project and Cost Management

  • Coordinate procurement schedules, vendor timelines, and subcontractor documentation with guidance from the Project Manager.
  • Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, cost summaries, and variation requests.
  • Maintain expenditure tracking records and assist the Project Manager in preparing budget updates.
  • Support evaluation of subcontractor claims by consolidating technical data and commercial data.

Quality, Safety & Risk Coordination Support Handover

  • Track quality and safety issues raised during inspections and ensure closure with engineering and site teams.
  • Coordinate risk review meetings and maintain the project risk register.
  • Monitor recurring issues and support implementation of mitigation actions.
  • Ensure documentation related to safety, quality, and compliance is properly submitted and updated.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Support the Project Manager in supervising project administration tasks, internal reporting routines, and team coordination.
  • Assist in organising training, briefings, or cross-team updates to maintain operational alignment.
  • Ensure team members follow communication protocols, update trackers, and adhere to project workflows.
