Asst. Project Engineer (Electrical)

The Assistant Project Engineer supports the Project Engineer and Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical projects. The role focuses on assisting with site supervision, documentation, coordination, and basic technical tasks to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Project Planning

  • Assist in project engineering activities including electrical installation works, testing, and commissioning under supervision.
  • Support preliminary design reviews and assist in preparing basic cost estimates for Design and Build tenders.
  • Assist the Project Engineer and Project Manager in tracking project schedules, monitoring task progress, and coordinating daily work activities.
  • Support coordination with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth site operations.

Site Monitoring & Progress Update

  • Assist in conducting site inspections and record progress using digital forms, photos, and checklists.
  • Update site progress data in the project management system and assist in monitoring actual versus planned progress.
  • Identify and report site issues, delays, or discrepancies to the Project Engineer or Project Manager promptly.
  • Coordinate with drafters, procurement, and internal teams to support site requirements and work sequencing.
  • Assist in preparing basic progress reports and dashboards for internal review.

Change & Digital Adoption Support

  • Assist in implementing new processes, digital tools, and workflow improvements on site.
  • Support site teams in understanding and using new systems and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the Project Engineer or Project Manager on site-level challenges during implementation.
  • Help monitor usage and compliance with new tools and workflows.

Stakeholder & Site Coordination

  • Support project meetings by preparing updates, taking minutes, and following up on assigned action items.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to support daily site coordination.
  • Respond to routine site queries from subcontractors and consultants, escalating complex matters when required.
  • Assist in arranging and supporting site walkthroughs or inspections for clients, consultants, or management.

Documentation Management

  • Maintain accurate project documentation including daily site reports, inspection records, drawings, and checklists.
  • Ensure documents are properly filed, tagged, and updated in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist in preparing periodic progress updates and submission documents.
  • Support standardisation of documentation practices to improve consistency and traceability.

Risk & Safety Support

  • Assist in identifying and reporting site risks related to safety, quality, schedule, or resources.
  • Support the Project Engineer in updating risk registers and tracking mitigation actions.
  • Promote safe work practices on site and report unsafe conditions or near misses promptly.
  • Encourage subcontractors and workers to comply with safety and quality requirements.
